Tarangire National Park is famous for its dense wildlife population, which is most spectacular between June and September, the dry period. During this time thousands of animals- wildebeests, buffalos, and oryx migrate from the dry Maasai steeple to the Tarangire River looking for water. Lions, leopards, and other predators follow the herds. Tarangire is home to over 500 varieties of birds. You will have lunch then take a late afternoon game viewing and drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge.

You will make a stop at the Olduvai Gorge where Mary Leakey discovered an early hominid fossil nicknamed Zinja that dates back some 1.8 million years. This discovery and later the uncovering of a set of hominid footprints dated 3.6 million years old changed the way scientists thought about human evolution. After a picnic lunch, you will continue to central Serengeti where you will check in at the Intimate Places Tented Camp, have dinner, and settle in for the night.
