6-Day Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Manyara

After breakfast, we depart for Serengeti National Park - the heart of wild Africa – with its endless plains rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. Arrive in time for lunch at the gate and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti. Later, we drive to Seronera Campsite for dinner and overnight.   Main Destination : Serengeti National Park Accommodation   : Budget camping

You will have a full-day safari game drive in Serengeti National Park including following the wildebeest migration if possible. We do an after-breakfast game-viewing drive along the Seronera River circuit which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River. This drive is good for possible lion, Thomson's gazelle, topi, ostrich, and cheetah sightings. The Visitor Centre close to the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites is well worth a visit after the morning’s game drive. This nicely-designed centre offers some interesting wildlife displays as well as a gift shop selling information leaflets and maps of the area. The centre also has a shop where cold drinks and snacks can be purchased, as well as a picnic area and information trail up and around a nearby kopje. We will enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch at the centre in the shade of the giant acacia trees. We will start early at 06:30 for the morning game drive. We drive back to the camp for brunch (breakfast and lunch). After packing, we drive to Ngorongoro with a game drive on the way to Simba Camp (which is 2,200 metres above sea level) for dinner and overnight.   Main Destination : Ngorongoro Highlands Accommodation   : Ngorongoro Simba Campsite

After an early breakfast at the campsite, we will descend over 600 metres to the crater floor to view the wildlife on our safari tour. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephant. Another big draw card to this picturesque park is its dense population of predators which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard (which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot). We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of hippos, flamingos, and other waterbirds can usually be seen here. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2,000-foot-high walls, you can expect to see many birds and other species. Lake Manyara is a beautiful little park that is famous for its tree-climbing lions, elephants, and large troops of baboons. The park is home to an amazing variety of birds and animals considering its small size. A short visit to this serene park will greatly diversify your safari experience as the lush, green jungle habitat is in stark contrast to the other parks you will visit during your safari.
