This 6-day safari will allow you to see the wildebeest migration at the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu areas in Tanzania. These are the best places to see thousands of wildebeest grazing on the rich, short grass plains during the months of January, February, and March. Predator activity is at its peak, with excellent sightings of cheetah, lion, hyena, and leopard. This tour can also be customized according to the season.

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and leave Arusha early in the morning. We head to Tarangire National Park where you can marvel at the massive termite mounds and old baobab trees. The calm ambience of Tarangire National Park is aided by the gorgeous surroundings and varied birdlife. The large elephant population is an amazing sight! African elephants are the world’s biggest terrestrial mammals, weighing up to 7 tons in adult males. Lions, giraffes, warthogs, ostriches, impalas, cheetahs, mongooses, buffaloes, and baboons are among Tarangire’s diverse fauna. Dinner and overnight are at Eileen’s Inn Lodge at Karatu.

Day 3 Karatu to Southern Serengeti (Ndutu Area)

Have breakfast at 6:30 am and then descend into the crater for a game tour. Later on, you will drive to the Ndutu area and proceed with the game drive. Ndutu is part of the yearly migratory path for over 2 million wildebeest, as well as thousands of zebra, antelope, and gazelle. During game drives between December and April, you will be able to witness the lush plains transform into calving areas and nurseries for the great migration. During the calving season, swarms of predators attack the fragile newborn wildebeest calves. The waterholes, which are surrounded by Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek, provide lots of opportunities for animal viewing throughout the dry season. The Ndutu area is also home to 6 types of big cats; leopard, lion, cheetah, caracal, serval, and wildcat. Dinner and overnight will be at Kenzan Ndutu Tented Camp.

Day 5 Ndutu to Central Serengeti
Day 5 Ndutu to Central Serengeti

The anticipation for today will be great as you make your way into the world's most famous wildlife park, the Serengeti. In the native African language, Serengeti means "endless plains," and witnessing the grassland stretch out as far as the eye can see before blending with the sky at the horizon is an incredibly magnificent sight. With a total land size of 14,763 square kilometers, it puts conventional notions of distance to rest. The Serengeti is home to Africa's largest surviving concentration of plains animals. You should also keep an eye out for the Serengeti's "kopjes", which are enormous granite rocks towering in a sea of grass. They provide abundant habitat for a wide range of plants and wildlife. During the day's game drive, a picnic lunch will be served. The exciting day concludes with a wonderful meal and a restful night's sleep at Matawi Luxury Tented Camp.

Day 6 Serengeti to Arusha
Day 6 Serengeti to Arusha

On this day, we suggest a very early wake-up call to do an early morning game drive (when the animals are more active) and see one of the best sunrises you'll ever witness. It's really one of the most beautiful experiences. After the game drive, we will head back to Arusha, passing through the Ngorongoro area.
